One of the best things of living in Madrid is that you can explore a lot of amazing places that are near. Today we will do a tour in Aranjuez, a small but beautiful city in the south of Madrid.
You can get to Aranjuez by direct train from the center of Madrid. It is very easy.
A couple of pics from the train. During the summer time, Madrid landscape is dry.
Aranjuez train station is a monument by itself. When you go down from the train, you can spend some time exploring the station before continuing the way.
Aranjuez station is very beautiful from inside. Recently, access machines has been installed. They don't fit very well, but there is no other choice.
Facade of Aranjuez station. It is a neomudejar style building.
From the train station you can take a bus to Aranjuez city center or just go walking. It is quite close, so if you go walking it won't take more than 10 minutes ^^.
Aranjuez is famous mostly because of the Royal Palace (Palacio Real) it hosts. It was built by order of Felipe II during the Sixtieth Century. It is a gorgeous building and I suggest doing a tour inside the palace.
Architecture details outside of the Aranjuez palace.
Kids playing around the palace ^^.
Going into Aranjuez we can enjoy the beauty of the streets next to the palace.
I love this part of Aranjuez! ^^
Aranjuez is also famous because of the strawberry that grow in the fields near the city. There are many places were you can buy strawberries with cream. They are delicious and trying them is a must!
Another of the best kept secrets of Aranjuez is the Prince's Garden (Jardín del Príncipe). It's huge and its beauty has no match. It is very interesting to go into this part of Aranjuez and walk by its paths between the trees while enjoying just the peace of the place.
The Estanque de los Chinescos is one of the most popular places inside the Prince's Garden.
End of the Prince's Garden tour. The river you can see is Tajo river.
The most famous restaurant in Aranjuez is El Rana Verde. It is located next to Tajo river.
Near the Royal Palace you can find some gorgeous gardens where you can have a nice time.

Back to the train station for going home ^^.
Sunset at Aranjuez station.
I love this pic: the sun, the rails, the platforms...
I hope you enjoyed this Aranjuez tour. If you have the chance, I recommend you to visit this place!
