Baseball in Japan

Baseball in Japan

Baseball is the national sport in Japan. Japanese people usually follow this sport on TV or going to baseball stadiums, where surprisingly the main goal of going to baseball games is gathering with friends while eating and drinking. Apart from Japan, baseball is the national sport in Taiwan and some South American countries (Venezuela, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Panama).

Baseball popularity has grown since World War Second. There are some traditional sports that are also popular in Japan, like sumo, karate and judo.

I took these pictures at Ueno Park in Tokyo. It's not a professional baseball match but an amateur match. Just for fun ^^.

In my case, I played baseball while being a kid both at school and during summer where I gathered with friends at a threshing floor or at an esplanade.
