Odaiba is a huge artificial island over the Tokyo Bay. One of the features of Tokyo is being an overpopulated city where almost 40 million people live. A lot of the coast terrains have been reclaimed from the sea and even an airport has been built over the sea.
These days Odaiba is a very modern and technological place for entertainment, perfect for spending an afternoon there ^^.
In this part of Odaiba there are some malls. In the background you can see Yukikamome line in circulation.
Some road works in this area ^^.
Sun splashing between two footbridges.
Palette Town consists of two malls, an entertainment center, a Toyota exhibition center, a club and its famous ferris wheel, Daikanransha.
Odaiba ferris wheel is 115 meters tall ^^.
Have you ever ridden a ferris wheel?
Sunset while walking next to the sea. During the week there aren't many people around, so you can breath calm and relax.
Views of the port next to Odaiba.
Huge cargo ship!
Sign telling that, in case of tsunami, the water level will rise 1 meter over its typical level.
The building you can see in this photo is Tokyo Big Sight, an exhibition center. Among other events, Comiket is held in this place two times each year. This amateur comic event is attended by more than half a million visitors.
The Yurikamome Line goes over the road. This transportation system is usually referred as "Odaiba monorail", but this is not wright because it is not a monorwail. Actually it is a vehicle system that use wheels and it is guided by a rail. An interesting feature of this transportation system is that it is not controlled by human drivers but by computers instead.
What color would you say is the light from this signal? Green or blue? =)
Japan Airlines plane after taking off from Haneda Airport, at Tokyo Bay.
Walking around Odaiba after the sunset ^^.
In this area of the island you can find the Fuji TV building, which we have already explored recently.
Grand Pacific Hotel in Odaiba. Despite being a beautiful area, the hotels places in the city center are much better connected with the public transportation system.
Yurikamome Line in front of the Fuji TV building, during sunset. A beautiful postcard from Odaiba!
At the end of this path you can see Rainbow Bridge.
Odaiba has its own Statue of Liberty replica. Small size, although ^^.
Rainbow Bridge is a huge bridge more than half a kilometer long connecting Odaiba with Tokyo city. This area is a beautiful place for watching the sea.
And this post about the Odaiba island ends with the Rainbow Bridge lights reflected over the sea.
I hope you have enjoyed it!
