Tokyo Station is one of the most important train stations in the city. Here you can take the Shinkansen (bullet train) for any part of Japan. Tokyo Station is not the busiest train station by number of passengers. The record is held by Shinjuku Station (almost 4 million daily passengers). Tokyo Station "only" gets 1 million daily passengers. However, it is the busiest station in Tokyo by the number of trains. More than 3,000 trains go into this station every day, using its more than 30 platforms. About 3 trains per minute!
