Yoyogi Park (代々木公園) is my favorite park in Tokyo and also is one of my favorite parks among all I have visited in my life. This park is located in the center of Tokyo and is entrance is next to Harajuku train station. If I should describe this park with few words it would be "the park of the hobbies". It's incredible the amount of different hobbies that Japanese people practice at this park. Japanese people are very hard workers, so they are happy to enjoy their hobbies during the weekend ^^.
Be prepared for counting all the hobbies!
This is the friend group Yoyogi Park De Enjoy Shichao, also known as YES！ (if you take the first letter of some words). Surprisingly there was a mexican guy in this group so at least I could talk a little with him ^^.
In Tokyo crows are everywhere. In fact, they are a problem for the city because their population is growing without control and more and more people are suffering attacks from the crows. One day I will talk about them in detail.
Scary crow on a tree.
There are people practicing relaxing hobbies, like sitting on a bank and just watch the small pond of Yoyogi Park.
Another hobby can be to play an exotic instrument.
Food stand in the park ^^.
There are people who come to the park with their couple...
... while others prefer to come with friends ^^.
This park is very beautiful in every sense.
A peaceful and cultural hobby is to read books on a bank ^^.
A hobby for recovering energies is to read the newspaper while laying over the leaves in the ground.
Some artists do performances in the park.
An artistic hobby may be to take photos of the trees with a smartphone and send them to friends.
A traditional hobby may be to gather with friends and practice for the next festival.
A hobby may also be playing frisbee. Japanese people specialize very deep in everything they do, even in the hobbies they practice. Notice who these people use professional gloves for playing frisbee!
Athletic hobbies! Jumping over the grass in this case ^^.
A hobby for improving precision and equilibrium may be gathering with friends for juggling.
At Yoyogi Park you can also find many animal lovers, specially dog lovers. This park is one of the few places in Tokyo where dogs can run without a strap.
There are areas reserved for dogs and their owners. This areas are sorted by dog size, so dogs with the same weight can play together.
Dog wearing the latest Japanese fashion ^^.
This how Yoyogi Park looks. People practicing hobbies everywhere ^^.
A children hobby may be blowing bubbles.
The bubble blowing hobby works perfect with the generating bubbles hobby ^^.
A new hobby related to bubbles is taking photos of the children while they play.
And the last hobby from this part is to troll the children who play with bubbles ^^U...
Small picnic at Yoyogi Park ^^.
Yoyogi Park is perfect for taking photos. There are many interesting things to see everywhere that it's a perfect place for photography.
Another new hobby consists that everyone from the friend group must place a paper ball on their heads while trying to smash the balls on the others heads with a plastic hammer ^^.
A strange hobby consists in walking by the park using an umbrella without plastic ^^.
Japanese boy wearing the latest fashion ^^.
One of the latest hobbies from this posts consists in playing with soccer ball.
And one of the most amazing hobbies is wear a rockabilly style costume and dance rock music. In the next post I will cover this hobby in detail as I think is the most amazing of all the hobbies I have seen.
I hope you liked to explore Yoyogi Park and all the hobbies people practice here.
What is your favorite hobby? :D
